This is a list of Stargate Atlantis characters who've died so far. It includes spoilers up to
2x20 "Allies." Members of the Atlantis expedition who died are bolded. Also included on this list
are significant injuries.
- Colonel Marshall Sumner was drained of life by the red-haired female Wraith Keeper. While
the Wraith fed upon him, Sumner was then shot and killed by Sheppard.
- Toran of the Athosians was killed by the female Wraith Keeper. Other Athosians were killed in the Wraith
attack.
- At least one Atlantis military SF may have died at the end of "Rising Part II," but this is
unconfirmed. When Puddle Jumper 1 was trying to outfly the Wraith Darts, some Wraith shots went through
the wormhole to Atlantis. At least one SF may have been hit by the blast.
- Several Wraith, including the red-haired female Wraith keeper, were killed by Major Sheppard and Lt. Ford.
Also, a few Wraith Darts were shot down by various military personnel.
- No one died.
- Significant Injuries: Lt. Aiden Ford was electrocuted by the energy being. Dr. Peter Grodin injured
his hand when he punched Dr. McKay's personal forcefield. Dr. Rodney McKay passed out twice (once from "manly
hunger").
- Major John Sheppard was medically dead for a short time. In order to get the space bug
to release Sheppard, Ford used a defibrillator to deliver electric shocks to Sheppard's system, stopping his
heart. Sheppard was later revived by Dr. Beckett and his team.
- Sgt. Stackhouse and Sgt. Markham were demolecularized inside the Stargate for almost 38 minutes. However,
they arrived safely in Atlantis when the Puddle Jumper made its way through the Stargate.
- No one from Atlantis died.
- Several Wraith were killed: one was killed by Teyla, another self-destructed, and the third was probably
killed.
- Significant Injuries: Dr. Rodney McKay and Major John Sheppard were struck by Wraith stunners blasts.
Lt. Aiden Ford suffered from a head injury when trying to dodge a Wraith stun shot.
- No one died.
- Significant Injuries: Keras from M7G-677 was struck in the chest by an arrow.
- Steve the Wraith died.
- Merell, the terminally ill Hoffan, died. However, it is unclear whether he died from his sickness or from
the anti-Wraith drug.
- Half of the Hoffans who received the drug innoculation, including Perna (Dr. Beckett's romantic interest),
died.
- No one from Atlantis died.
- Tyrus of the Genii (Sora's father) was captured by the Wraith and presumably killed.
- No one from Atlantis died.
- Thousands of the little "fog" aliens on M5S-224 died each time the Stargate was engaged.
- Two Atlantis military SFs who were guarding the Stargate were killed by Commander Kolya
of the Genii.
- Major John Sheppard killed two Genii, and in retaliation, Commander Kolya decided to kill Dr. Elizabeth
Weir (at which point, the episode was To Be Continued).
- Significant Injuries: Dr. Rodney McKay suffered a knife wound to his right arm.
- No one from Atlantis died.
- Major John Sheppard killed around 60 Genii: 3 early on in the episode; 55 coming through the Stargate;
and (with the help of Lt. Aiden Ford) at least 2 at the end of the episode. Also, 2 Genii were apparently
electrocuted in one of the generator rooms (they were knocked out by Ford and were presumably still there
when electricity ran throughout Atlantis).
- Significant Injuries: Dr. Carson Beckett suffered a minor concussion thanks to Sora knocking him
out. Sora and Teyla also had a fist and knife fight with one another, and each suffered minor injuries from
that. Kolya was shot in the shoulder by Sheppard.
- Dr. Abrams was killed when the Wraith sucked his life out.
- Dr. Brendan Gall had much of his life drained by the Wraith. Gall later shot himself in
the head.
- The Wraith and a bunch of little lightning bug aliens were killed by a shot from Lt. Ford's Puddle Jumper.
- Dr. Wagner died from the Nanite virus. (Wagner was the male scientist who was dead within
the first few minutes of the episode).
- Dr. Johnson died from the Nanite virus. (Johnson was the blonde female scientist who died
within the first few minutes of the episode.)
- Dr. Dumais (the dark-haired female scientist) died from the Nanite virus.
- Dr. Peterson was shot by Major Sheppard, but he actually died from the Nanite virus.
- Dr. Hays died from the Nanite virus.
- Significant Injuries: Over a third of Atlantis's population was infected with the Nanite virus
(including Dr. McKay, Lt. Ford, Dr. Zelenka, and Teyla), but the nanite virus was destroyed by the nuclear
EMP wave.
- No one from Atlantis died.
- Many Wraith Darts were destroyed.
- Older Elizabeth Weir (the one from the original timeline who was accidentally sent
10,000 years to the past) died from extreme old age (10,000+ years old), as all her body systems began
to fail.
- Everyone else on the Atlantis expedition from the original timeline died. Most of
them drowned (including Col. Sumner, Dr. McKay, Dr. Grodin, Dr. Beckett, and Lt. Ford) when the shield
holding back the ocean collapsed. However, Major Sheppard and Dr. Zelenka were killed when the
time-machine Puddle Jumper that they and Dr. Weir were in was shot down by Wraith Darts.
- Sgt. Markham, while flying a Puddle Jumper to protect Atlantis, was killed by a
Wraith Dart.
- Smith, presumably another military officer, was killed in the same Puddle Jumper
as Sgt. Markham.
- Pranos, one of the Genii and Kolya's apparent right-hand man, was killed when he set off the
Brotherhood's booby-trap.
- 3 other Genii were killed: Lt. Ford killed 1 Genii above the underground chamber, and Teyla knifed
2 more inside the chamber.
- Injuries: Commander Kolya's gunshot wound to the shoulder (from 1x11 "The Eye") continues
to cause him pain. The Genii shot Lt. Ford with a knock-out dart, then struck him unconscious. In
the underground chamber, everyone but Major Sheppard, Teyla, and Lt. Ford were temporarily stunned
by Lt. Ford's flashbangs. Lt. Ford overpowered 1 Genii (presumably, Ford knocked him out afterwards),
and Major Sheppard overpowered Commander Kolya after a brief fight.
- No one from Atlantis died.
- No one from Atlantis died.
- Some random person who had been captured by the Wraith and stored for food purposes was fed upon
(and killed).
- Injuries: Teyla, while under the influence of the Wraith, punched Dr. Beckett in the face,
threw Lt. Ford across the room, and hit Major Sheppard in the back with a pole. Teyla was shocked
several times when Dr. Beckett tried to bring her out of hypnosis, and Sgt. Bates shot Teyla twice in
the back with the Wraith stunner.
- Dr. Peter Grodin was killed when the Wraith hiveships blew up the Ancient satellite
station that he was in.
- One of the three Wraith hive ships was destroyed.
- "Bob" the Wraith was killed by Major Sheppard; Major Sheppard repeatedly shot Bob many times in the
chest.
- Significant Injuries: Teyla hit Sgt. Bates across the face. Sgt. Bates was
attacked by Bob the Wraith and suffered serious injuries; he was then put into an induced coma by Dr.
Beckett. Major Sheppard and two of his men were hit by Wraith stunner blasts.
- Many Atlantis personnel or SGC military officers were injured, killed, or
kidnapped by the Wraith.
- Many Wraith were killed, and many Wraith dart ships were shot down.
- Other Things: Teyla and Ford were potentially killed (unlikely) or kidnapped by the Wraith.

Colonel Everett may have been injured or killed by one of the Wraith.
- At least 40 Atlantis personnel were killed during the Wraith attacks.
- Many Wraith were killed.
- Other Things: Lt. Ford was attacked by a Wraith (hand in the chest) and then blown off a
balcony by a grenade into ice-cold water. A mutation occurred, and Ford became dependant upon the
Wraith enzyme to live. Colonel Everett, after being attacked by a Wraith, was severely aged and was
returned to Earth.
- Dr. Monroe and Dr. Lindstrom were killed by the Wraith virus. Monroe
was electrocuted/burned. Lindstrom was exposed to toxins during a coolant leak, and was then thrown out of
an airlock by the alien virus.
- Other Things: Colonel Sheppard and Dr. McKay were exposed to radiation and suffered some burns.
- No one from Atlantis died.
- A Wraith was killed by Ford.
- Other Things: Lt. Ford was shot in the arm by Dr. McKay. Various people were stun-blasted
or knocked unconscious.
- No one from Atlantis died.
- A Wraith was shot and killed by Sheppard.
- Other Things: Lt. Laura Cadman and Dr. McKay were forced to temporarily share the same body.
They eventually became weakened by this experience and suffered a seizure.
- No one died in the episode, but the outlook for the Olesians is bad.
- Other Things: Ronon was shot in the leg with an arrow.
- Dr. Collins died when the weapon overloaded.
- Kell, Ronon's military task master from Sateda, was killed by Ronon.
- No one from Atlantis died.
- Zaddik, Ellia's surrogate father, was killed by Ellia.
- A male Wraith had his neck snapped by Ellia.
- Ellia was killed by Sheppard and Ronon.

- Other Things: Sheppard's arm was torn up when Ellia attempts to feed on him.
- Walker and Stevens, two military officers, were killed by the Iratus bugs.
- Other Things: Sheppard was infected by the retrovirus, which caused him to mutate into a
weird human/bug hybrid. Apparently, it took him at least a few weeks to recover. While a human/bug
hybrid, Sheppard choked Weir and knocked out several military officers.

and his men until they became dependent. McKay was also given the enzyme but was then taken off it at
Sheppard's request.
- No one from Atlantis died.
- Kanayo died from enzyme withdrawal.
- The two Wraith hiveships destroyed each other, killing everyone on board, including the Wraith Queen,
the Wraith, Neena, and the human Wraith worshippers. Ford may also have been on board,
but Sheppard believes otherwise.
- Other Things: McKay injected himself with a large does of the Wraith enzyme and went through
serious withdrawal, almost dying. Ronon, Teyla, and Ford also experienced severe withdrawal but survived.
- No one from Atlantis died.
- Other Things: Sheppard was severely injured twice by the invisible monster. He was healed
both times by Hetta.
- Charin, the old female Athosian, died from a heart condition.
- Other Things: Colonel Caldwell was given electric shocks, apparently in an attempt to cause
the Goa'uld to retreat until Caldwell could give Sheppard the code. At the end of the episode, Hermiod
was working on a way to remove the Goa'uld from Caldwell using Asgard technology.
- Griffin died when he sacrificed himself to save McKay.
- Other Things: McKay received a severe blow to the head, resulting in a bloody gash and a
concussion. He hallucinated Lt. Colonel Carter, and he was on the verge of hypoxia, hypothermia,
and drowning throughout the episode.
- No one from Atlantis died.
- The Lord Protector was poisoned to death by Otho. Otho died when John cut him with a poisoned knife.
- No one from Atlantis died.
- Phoebus and Thalan's original bodies died shortly after their life pods were opened. Their "imprinted"
personalities eventually faded from Elizabeth and John.
- Other Things: Sheppard/Thalan was shot in the arm by McKay. Ronon was shot in the stomach by
Weir/Phoebus, and Beckett had to surgically remove the bullet to save his life.
- No one from Atlantis died.
- Two Genii soldiers were shot and killed by Ladon.
- Commander Cowen and possibly other Genii loyal to him were killed in a nuclear explosion.

at the Alpha Site.
- Other Things: Michael underwent serious physical and mental trauma during his transformation into a
human, then later mental trauma after he discovered the truth about himself.
- No one from Atlantis died.
- Some Taranians ventured out during the volcanic eruption and presumably died.
- Other Things: Ronon, Teyla, and several other Taranians were exposed to the poisonous gas and dust
that the volcano released and almost suffocated; however, there were apparently no long-term effects from this
exposure.
- No one from Atlantis died. Sheppard was MIA, but we all know that he's not really dead.
- One Wraith who was transformed into a human died when the Wraith Queen fed on him.
