January 22, 2005: As you may have noticed since last week, the SciFi Channel has a new series of commercials for Stargate Atlantis, Stargate SG-1, and Battlestar Galactica. The series is set against a blue background, and there are several "versions." The main Atlantis commercial features Joe Flanigan, Torri Higginson, David Hewlett, and Rachel Luttrell, but one of the combined versions has only Flanigan and Higginson. Expect screen shots in the future.

January 14, 2005: According to Gateworld.net, Rainbow Sun Francks, who plays Lt. Aiden Ford, will become a recurring character in Stargate Atlantis Season 2, rather than a series regular. He will no longer appear in the opening credits, and he will not be in every episode. For more information on this development, including story spoilers, please see the Gateworld.net article.

January 14, 2005: For the Americans, remember that the newest Stargate Lowdown special will be shown on Monday, January 17, 2005 10:00pm EST, and the second half of Season 1 will begin airing Friday January 21, 2005 at its new timeslot of 9:00pm EST. Also, the second issue of the Stargate magazine, featuring an interview with Joe Flanigan, is out on magazine stands and in bookstores now.

January 02, 2005: Happy new year! Atlantica has a new section: Lists for lists of things that need listing. For now, there's an Atlantis Deathlist, keeping track of who's died so far (up to 1x15 "Before I Sleep"), among other things.

January 02, 2005: The TV Guide Channel is showing a 50-minute special on various science fiction television shows. One segment is about the Stargate franchise. The Stargate Atlantis portion features short interviews with Rainbow Sun Francks and Rachel Luttrell on the series, and a behind-the-scenes bit with Joe Flanigan and David Hewlett. December 09, 2004: The Movie Central (in Western Canada) has updated its Stargate Atlantis schedule: the network will not be airing any new Atlantis episodes until January 3, 2005. The Movie Network (in Eastern Canada) has also updated its schedule for the rest of Stargate Atlantis. Although The Movie Network's website states that it will air "The Gift" after "The Siege Part 2," this is probably just a mistake since "The Siege Part 2" is the season finale.

November 30, 2004: Eastern Canada's The Movie Network will air Atlantis 1x15 "Before I Sleep" on December 6, 2004 (8:00pm EST), and then repeat 1x01 and 1x02 "Rising" on December 13 and 20 respectively (8:00pm EST). However, after Western Canada's The Movie Central airs 1x15 on December 6 (7:00pm MT), it will continue to show new episodes: 1x16 "Letters from Pegasus" airs on The Movie Central on December 20, 2004 (7:00pm MT) and 1x17 "The Gift" will air on December 27, 2004 (7:00pm MT).

November 15, 2004: Sci Fi officially announced today that it has renewed Stargate Atlantis for a second season. 20 episodes have been ordered to begin filming March 2005. All of the regular cast (who are contracted to Atlantis for six seasons) will be returning. Scifi has also renewed Stargate SG-1 for a ninth season, also with 20 episodes. Source: Sci Fi Wire.

November 12, 2004: In the USA on the Sci Fi Channel, the second half of Stargate Atlantis Season 1 will begin airing on January 21, 2005. Atlantis is moving to a new time slot at 9:00pm EST. There will be a new Stargate Lowdown special that will first air on January 17, 2005 at 10:00pm EST (and repeat several times later) on Sci Fi. And finally, on January 7, 2005, a Stargate Atlantis marathon is scheduled on Sci Fi from 8:00pm to 1:00am EST.

November 2004: The first issue of the all-new Official Stargate SG-1 magazine is out. The magazine is published once every two months (six issues per year), and Issue #1 includes articles, interviews, and profiles on both Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis.

November 2004: MGM has for sale a Comic Con Limited Edition DVD featuring a "72 minute discussion panel with the cast and producers of Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis" from the San Diego 2004 convention. The DVDs are $8.95 each.

October 24, 2004: Caps for 1x10 "The Storm" have been uploaded. Unfortunately, they somehow were renamed improperly, so they're out-of-order. I'll try to fix that later.

October 5, 2004: According to Stargate Atlantis.com, Stargate Atlantis action figures are in the works. In the scrolling marquee on the main page, the site states: "In the midst of this, the cast is having their body and face scanned for action figures which are currently being developed by MGM." The marquee also adds that the two-parter episodes "Siege" are now in production; the episodes are being directed by Martin Wood.

September 2004: Currently, new episodes of Stargate Atlantis and Stargate SG-1 are on their fall/winter hiatuses in the USA, in accordance with SciFi Channel tradition. Both series will resume airing new episodes from the second half of their seasons in January 2005. In the meantime, the SciFi Channel will rerun Stargate SG-1 Season 8 and Stargate Atlantis episodes on Friday nights. In the United Kingdom, Stargate Atlantis 1x01 "Rising Part 1" is set to premiere on October 12, 2004 at 9:00pm on the channel Sky One.
